This, though in its current state a little bit too expensive, sounds like something with at least some useful applications. Like a carriable sensor, that could identify rotten meat in supermarkets (another scandal over here just now). Or as a king's taster to identify poisoned wine - if it contained a lethal dose it would make a gurgling dying sound just before showing the blue screen of death :-)
