Old men and seas

In the last week of school, my students read this short novel. Why? they asked. Because it is good, I said. Because it is an easy read with a lot to think about. Because it offers perspective fitting for the end of the year.

As I read it with them, I came to my own epiphany. I am afraid that one day my tenacity will kill me. I am not very good at letting go. I don't want to end my life with nothing to show save the carcass of something great.

I don't understan why so many people do. The whole trophy hunting thing doesn't make any sense to me.

Dear 4 zillion. There is an amazing book, I mean just life changing, read one chapter and it will start the process of beng able to let go. To hold a fear requires so much energy, this blocks the flow of new fresh and vital energy to you.
The book is called "The Untethered Soul" by Michael A Singer. Maybe read the back cover or have a nose at a chapter or two, in your local book store.

Shameless plug? Just a recommendation, nothing more, nothing less.
Why such a suspicious mind?

I wasn't talking about you, I was talking about me, why so defensive?

James, I've never been one to admire stuffed heads, either. I can relate to the idea of pursuing something ambitious though.

Takakow, Thanks for the recommendation. A good book and one with a bit of perspective would do me well.

Daniel, You are welcome to send shameless plugs my way anytime you want. I enjoyed the fruity humor. ;)
