andrew dice clay

Saw him at a club in LA last night. He and Pauly Shore were the only names I recognized. Though I hated his material, the "Diceman" was clearly the best performer by stage presence alone. Comedy must be a harsh profession; I respect anyone willing to put themselves out there on the stage, even if he is a complete asshole.

Stand up has to be rough. You saw how it pushed Mike Richards to get REAL stupid. Paul Rodriguez made a really good point about stand up requiring a different mind set.

I do not care for the "Diceman" either, very crude. I did see Paul Rodriguez some years ago in Costa Mesa, he was hilarious

Standup is brutal. The same material that killed on Friday can sit there like a cat turd on Saturday. Especially if there's any degree of audience interaction.

I think maybe I'll post on this subject.
