good timing

Woke up this morning to find something new on our back porch. We live on the second floor.

Thursday our water was cut off from 9 a.m. to "5 p.m." (meaning of course 7:30 p.m.).

Did I mention that I'm glad to be moving?

Even if that means we have to do our own caulking and plumbing, at least we won't wake up to find that a stranger has plastered our windows and doors in CAUTION tape.

How long till you go?
Are you in the list writing phase?
or the suddenly realising just how much stuff you own phase?
or the packing stuff you'll actually need before the move phase?
or the BLOODY HELL WE MOVE TOMMORROW AND I'M NOT READY phase?
good luck.

List writing. Lots of lists on the backs of lots of paint samples.

We're realizing how little we own rather than how much--a cross-country move and surprise apartment fire helped us pare down.

Tonight begins the packing phase.

Friday is BLOODY HELL day.

I'm so happy for you.

Rejoice in the little that you own. If you don't notice its absence, you don't really need it.

It's all good.

When we moved, we had to spend three months in a rental. We packed up most of our stuff and never missed it. When we unpacked at the new house we kept wondering why we didn't get rid of things before moving. Lesson learned - less is more. Enjoy your move. It's stressfull, but should also be fun. Congrats.
