what I learned about Easter
1) Way more fun with a kid, especially one who can walk.
2) An egg can be "hidden" in the middle of the floor and still cause immense joy upon being discovered.
3) People really do buy new dresses for church on Easter.
4) No flower-print dress looks good on a pregnant woman.
5) Sermons with names like "No Fear Factor" are bound to come off a little corny.
6) Don't sit next to the trumpet player. He's very good but very loud.
7) Lemon juice works best for dying Easter eggs and doesn't turn the "whites" dark blue.
and last, but not least,
8) Never put tinfoil-covered chocolate within reach of the carseat.

I wondered how lemon juice would work for dying eggs. I didn't have any vinegar and thought about trying the lemon juice, but went to the store instead to do it the "usual" way!
The first time we hid easter eggs for our daughter, we hid them too well and quickly learned they needed to be somewhat out in the open or else the "hunt" would take all morning!
Sounds like you had fun! (Except for the chocolate thing)
We're planning on doing the egg/bunny thing but we don't do the church thing. And I've been trying to stay away from florals. Hippie clothes ALWAYS look good, though. Those women in the 60's had it made.
Another tip: Write down where the Easter Bunny has hid the eggs. You don't want to find the 12th egg three weeks later by tracking down the smell.
Yeharr
good to know about the lemon juice. sadly, this year we forgot about easter until that weekend. we knew it was coming, just lost track of time. went to go buy candy to munch on and no yellow peeps, no cream eggs. is the world coming to an end??
Good learning!
Ballon,
Thank you for the tip!!! I love getting info from parents. This whole raising a kid thing is pretty scary.
4) No flower-print dress looks good on a pregnant woman.
So, women didn't learn anything from 1974, then, eh?
Easter certainly is rewarding with children who "get" it.
